Shimoda has a strong image of the sea, and in the summer it is crowded with many people who come to the beach.
However, we purposely built the cottage in the mountains.
The cottage in the mountains, a little far from the sea, is really quiet.

All I can hear is the birds chirping
The babbling brook below the cottage
Just the sounds of nature.

This is a cottage where you can spend your time like that.

In 1977, my father, Mitsuaki, founded Sunny Side Coffee Shop right in front of Kisami Ohama Beach.(Closed in 2022) Due to its location right in front of the sea and the fact that there was nothing nearby at the time, we had many foreign customers.
Additionally, many customers who visit the cafe have told us that there are no accommodations nearby that they would like to stay at.
Therefore, we decided to build a cottage that would satisfy foreign customers.We commissioned Honka, a top manufacturer in Finland, and imported timber from Finland to build our passionate log house in 1997.
Since 2019, it has been reborn as a cottage where you can stay for just one night.

Hamaguchi, Hamaguchi, is a mother raising a child, specifically a son in elementary school.
When I traveled myself, I had a hard time finding accommodations that were fun for families with children, so I want to make sure that families with children have a comfortable stay, and so I stock amenities for children.We offer toys ranging from play kitchen sets and Plarail to plastic tableware, toilet seats, and baby chairs.
We hope you will use our cottage to create memories with your children as the period of raising them passes by in a flash.

High quality log houses made in Finland.It is airtight, keeping you cool in the summer and warm in the winter.There are two buildings: Topi Building (maximum capacity 6 people) and Consta Building (maximum capacity 8 people).
If you rent both buildings exclusively, you will have a completely private space.
There are no neighbors within a 700m radius, so you can enjoy yourself without worrying about those around you.
It can accommodate up to 14 people, so it's perfect for families or friends.
It can also be used for music training camps.
Enjoy your private time to deepen your bonds with your loved ones.

Sunny Side Cottage is located deep in the mountains where there is no cell phone reception.
We have WiFi, but we encourage you to take a break from your daily routine and enjoy a digital detox.
I recommend it.
The beach is just a 3-minute drive away, perfect for spending time by the sea.

The most beautiful beach in the world.Shimoda has nine beaches, most of which have high quality water with excellent transparency.Some people fall in love with the beauty of the beach and come back every year, or even move there.Kisami Ohama Beach, near the cottages, has long been popular with foreigners.
