Shimoda has a strong image of the sea, and in the summer it is crowded with many people who come to the beach.
However, we purposely built the cottage in the mountains.
The cottage in the mountains, a little far from the sea, is really quiet.
There are no man-made objects around, so you can hear the chirping of birds,
The only sound you can hear is the sound of nature, the babbling of the stream flowing under the cottage.
Enjoy the lively beach during the day, and when you return to the cottage,
Spend a relaxing time in the quiet forest atmosphere.
This is a cottage where you can spend your time like that.

In 1977, my father Mitsuaki was born in front of Kisami Ohama Beach.
Founded Sunny Side Coffee Shop.(Now closed) Located right in front of the sea and there was nothing nearby at the time, we had many foreign customers.Additionally, many customers who visit the cafe have told us that there are no accommodations nearby that they would like to stay at.
Therefore, we decided to build a cottage that would satisfy foreign customers.
We asked Honka, a leading manufacturer in Finland in Northern Europe, to procure timber and built our passionate cottage in 1997.

As the hotel was originally intended for foreign guests, we installed a more expensive commercial kitchen, and planted various seasonal plants such as cherry blossoms and autumn leaves in the garden so that guests can enjoy the four seasons of Japan.
Customers from countries such as Hawaii and Germany have been using our service for 3 to 5 years.
It was used as a rental villa where you could relax during your vacation on an annual contract.
Renovated in 2019 so that it can be rented for short stays starting from one night.
Since then, it has become available to more customers.

There are only two cottages.
If you rent out two buildings, you will have complete private space.
It can accommodate up to 14 people, so it is perfect for families.
You can also enjoy it with a group of friends.
Enjoy your private time to deepen your bonds with your loved ones.

Sunnyside Cottage is located in the mountains where there is no mobile phone reception.We have WiFi, but we encourage you to take a break from your daily routine and do a digital detox.Spending time with family and friends in nature.Take a walk around the cottage with your children and encounter the many insects and seasonal plants, play on the nearby beach, and gaze up at the starry sky.I hope you can fully experience nature and go home feeling refreshed and refreshed.
